WoW Mining Guide

dugi's ultimate wow guide

If you are looking to find an easy leveling profession, we recommend Mining.

It allows you to gain points without having to worry about pulling together a whole bunch of mats for your patterns like Tailoring, Engineering or any of the others.

 Plus, each time you mine one of the mining games within the game, you can get an additional skill point added.

It's the little things like this that you read in some WoW Mining guide that can help you when you play the game.

Our goal is to give you some of the best tips you can find on the Internet. The best way to do it is by helping you navigate your way around the game so you can find the best spots to farm your ores.

Unfortunately, those who don't use a WoW mining guide will waste time going to areas where they aren't allowed to mine yet. If you're still confused about it all, let's just get started.

Starting Out

Anytime you're looking for a WoW mining guide, it's important to have a good overview of the profession.

See, we're going to talk about ores and their locations to help you get started. Like for instance you will only need one thing to start mining, and a few other items are optionals.

* Mining Pick- You don't need anything fancy, just a pick that will help you break open each vein (some people call them mining deposits).

* Mining Bag- When you first start out you won't need one of these, but they're highly recommended. If all you're doing is farming that day, a mining bag can save a lot of room and allow you to stay out there longer.

There are various sizes, but that would be something you learn about in your WoW mining guide and the best ones to use, cost, and everything else involved.

* Glove Enchants- Listen, there is a small glove enchant called the "Gatherer" that increases your mining skill by 2 or 5. Many people don't find that to be a big deal, but it really helps.

There are many times you are out there in one location where the level is around 2-5 skill points higher. If you have the enchant on your gloves, you'll be able to mine those deposits right now.

If not you're out of luck until next time. There are actually reasons why you wouldn't want to get this enchant either, which you can find in a good WoW mining guide.

However, you won't be able to do much of anything until you actually the train the profession. There are several mining trainers situated around the major cities, and at times even the smaller ones.

It doesn't matter if you're a Horde player or with the Alliance because their are plenty available. While we could list each one individually, there is an easier way to find them.

Any WoW mining guide will tell you that it's much easier to find a profession trainer by asking a city guard. When they've given you the answer, open up your map and you will find an exclamation point that marks the location of your trainer.

Once you get the location down, you won't need to use the map anymore.

Your First Adventure with Find Minerals

No matter what faction you're sided with, a WoW mining guide can teach you how to find the right ores. One of the first things you're going to do when you farm is turn on the Find Minerals option.

It works just like an ability and you receive it as soon as you learn the mining profession. We recommend keeping it somewhere in your action bar so you don't forget. Mining veins can be difficult to locate if you don't have it turned on.

Now that you understand everything in the beginning, it's time to help you locate those precious ores. Since your first option to train will be Copper Ores, it's nice to know there are plenty of places to find them.

In fact, the easiest way to think about it is you can go right outside any major city and find Copper ore veins. However, it's much easier to find them in caves and instances. The choice is yours, but here's a short list of some of the best locations to find the right caves.

Redridge Mountains- When you reach the beginning of Lakeshire, there are two major caves around Redridge Mountains. If you go over the bridge and make a left into town, follow that all the way through and past the garden at the top of the hill.

To your right will be an opening to get on top of the mountain. Take it then turn right. You will need to make an immediate left when the area opens up and back in there is a great place for mining copper ores.

The Dead Mines- Probably the easiest place to mine if you're well above the enemy's level, the Dead Mines found in Westfall/Sentinel Hill has a ridiculous amount of Copper mining deposits.

The reason this area sets itself apart from the rest is because many of the enemy miners hidden within will drop a few ores for you. A nice benefit when you're first starting out.

Other Locations we recommend:

* Thousand Needles
* Silverpine Forest
* Hillsbrand Foothills
* Loch Modan
* Stonetalon Mountains
* Duskwood
* Desolace
* Wetlands
* Darkshore and many others

Turning those Ores into Copper Bars

When you've accumulated around 50-80 Copper ores, it's time to take them to a smelting location. While many people believe you have to go back to a major city, there are actually small forging areas throughout the land.

However, if you have a hearthstone set to a comfortable location, then use it. We need to get you back there so you can level up.

All you have to do is open your Smelting ability (just like the Find Minerals) and start making copper bars. In the beginning you will get an additional mining skill for each bar.

Just remember that as you progress the chance of a mining point decreases and takes longer. This is why it's important to have somewhere around 50-80 Copper ores. When you're finished, you should reach level 65, which means you can train the next step (Tin).

This will be more than enough to help you get started. As your journey progresses, you will find that other ores such as Gold, Truesilver, and Thorium become increasingly difficult to find.

It's one of the biggest reasons you need to take advantage of a WoW mining guide. In the end you will save time farming, and be able to make gold at a faster rate.

Now that you have the beginning stages down, it's time to move on. If you take advantage of our WoW mining guide, you'll be able to learn the secrets behind:
