WoW Enchanting Guide

ultimate wow enchanting guide

One thing I've always noticed when people choose the enchanting profession is they never choose their second one to complement it.

Well, I shouldn't say never because it does happen, but the majority of the time, it doesn't...

WoW Enchanting is one of those complex professions that require as much knowledge as possible to maximize your profits.

It's the reason you need an ultimate WoW enchanting guide.

I could run you through the beginning stages to help you progress faster, but it's more important to understand many of the mistakes everyone makes.

WoW Enchanting Tips

If you know these upfront, you'll find yourself making more money in the auction house and gain a good reputation around the game. Yes, you can find them in a WoW enchanting guide, but why wait when I can throw out a few tips right now?

Enchanting Drops

Anytime you find a good BOE (bind when equipped) item, it's important to understand that it becomes soulbound once you enchant it. If it can sell for a good amount in the Auction House, just keep it and list it in the AH.

Even though this will occur several times throughout the game, there are other times when you may want to enchant weapons to just up your skill. However, you need to make sure it isn't worth much or you'll end up losing money.

If you really want a good trick to utilize with your enchanter, you will have to have a guild member or friend help you. When both of you are online, send all the BOE items to your friend.

He or she can open the trade option and place one item at a time in the bottom left hand corner. This way you can enchant them, but your friend can mail them to you when they're done. It's a great way to add a few gold or more to each of the popular items.

Disenchanting

When you come around to disenchanting, it can be helpful for awhile. From levels 1-50, you will find that you can disenchant something and gain a skill point.

However, once you reach this pinnacle it becomes increasingly difficult to get even one point. Don't worry though; disenchanting has more benefits then just getting rid of those unwanted drops. In fact, here's an example of one of the items you might get from the AH for cheap.

Engraved Breastplate of the Wolf
binds when equipped

322 Armor
+17 Agility
+17 Spirit

Requires level 55

This happens to be a mail armor piece that is decent for anyone around who can use it at level 55. However, as an Enchanter you can actually disenchant it into dust, essences, shards, and more.

When you hover over the item, you will notice something that looks like this underneath the stats you see above:

Engraved Breastplate of the Wolf
item level: 60

Buy from vendor 2g 08s 74c
Sell to vendor 69s 44c

Disenchants into:

75% Illusion Dust x1.5
20% Greater Eternal Essence x1.5
5% Large Brilliant Shard x1.0

disenchant requires skill 200

Did you notice the last line? You have to be at a certain level before you're allowed to disenchant specific items, so keep this in mind.

The idea however is that if you disenchant the Engraved Breastplate of the Wolf, you would be able to receive either Illusion Dust, Greater Eternal Essence, or a Large Brilliant Shard.

The percentages on the left hand side are the chances that your piece will turn into one of those.

Deciding to Sell or Disenchant

When you take advantage of a WoW enchanting guide, one of the things it will talk about is whether you should sell an item or disenchant it.

Just like the information you see above, there will also be prices listed for how much an item is going for in the AH. However, it will also give you a market price average for those items. Not paying attention to this is a huge mistake.

Seriously, if your disenchant items can make you 5-8 gold, why would you keep the piece and sell it when it's only worth 2.

Obviously it will depend on the popularity of the item in the AH, but more times than not you won't find armor that is purchased as much as any type of trade goods. So if you can make more money disenchanting it, then by all means, do it.

Enchanting for Work

This is another area that a WoW enchanting guide will completely cover. When you've reached those higher skill levels, you will always find a religious gamer that needs to upgrade their gear.

Maybe they're a Warlock and need an increase in Spellpower, Stamina, or Intellect. Maybe it's a Warrior who is looking to increase his or her Attack Power. Whatever the case may be, you can be right there to help them.

All you have to do is communicate through the Trade Chat that you're looking for work. You've probably seen hundreds of people do this, or at least abbreviating the message.

It might read something like, "LF work [Enchanting], free w/ur mats." When someone comes to you, they may give you a nice tip for helping them out. Then again, there are times when you come across those stingy people.

There are other Enchanters, who charge, so be sure to keep up with the competition as well.

The Last Mistake

When it's all said and done, there are still a lot of noobs out there who don't take advantage of everything in front of them.

When it comes to enchanting, you can find yourself having a hard time increasing your skill points due to the cost of the mats.

However, many people overlook the fact that they can tell people they are working specifically for certain enchantments. This way you can level up and possibly make a couple gold along the way.

What it comes down to is that everything is right in front of you. The only problem is you need to have the proper knowledge in the enchanting arena to take advantage of it all.

In order to do that you need to have your own WoW enchanting guide handy. We highly recommend that you get Dugi's Ultimate World Of Warcraft Guide.
