Leveling Fishing
Most people overlook the fact that when they're fishing it's
all about the fishing gear available. While some of your
catches can result in armor, weapons, mounts and more, there is
actually fishing gear you can where while having a nice time on
the water.
Granted, you might not worry about it, but a wow fishing
guide will give you the details if you do. Here's a short list
of what you can find.
Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole (200) - This epic fishing pole
is one of the most sought after of the bunch. Higher leveled
toons will enjoy its 186.5 DPS (damage per second) and 1843
feral attack power.
If this wasn't enough, it will also increase your fishing by
30, and allow underwater breathing. Unfortunately you have your
skill level at 300 before you can equip it.
Fishing Chair- If you want to look stylish while you're sitting
on a pier, grab yourself a seat.
Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat (115) - Priests, Warlocks, and Mages
may enjoy the ability to wear this item. On a fishing
standpoint it gives you a +5 skill increase, but if you attach
a lure while fishing you will get an additional 75.
We suggest checking the auction house for this one because
you can only get it from a drop.
There are several others you can get during your journey and
use them to your advantage. You can also find things like
higher test line, using dynamite, and having hooks, nets, and
anything else.
It's a lot of fun once you get into it. Just keep in mind
these will come through leveling your skill. They won't all be
accessible in the beginning.
Other Things You'll Find
Since World of Warcraft is about as close to the real world you
can get, there are several other benefits to fishing.
Eventually you will come across a fishing tournament in
Stranglethorn Vale.
While many of you will want to jump all over this, we
recommend waiting until you are at least a level 40 character.
This way you can take on all the mobs without any problems and
reach each area faster with a mount. If you try to do it at a
lower level, you might come home a loser.
In the end you can make fishing a lot of fun, but you'll need
the help of a wow fishing guide. Trying to go about it without
one will leave you wandering around the game in hopes of
finding something good.
Instead of taking this route, why don't you let a guide tell
you exactly where to go and when you should do it. The end
result will be much, much better.
